Aw Bright, it's hard, isn't it, when our Hs start acting nice and normal again? I really think he's trying to reconnect with you, not just about the business, but really with you! I am not sure of anything anymore, this MLC is messing up my brain too, but think that you're doing fine by just being pleasant and available to him when he contacts you. Which he does a lot now, right? Did you say that your cell phone doesn't work at your vacation home? Maybe it was that there is no internet service? Anyway, if so, you won't have to worry about contact or not during your vacation with your sister.
