i couldnt agree more with Wii.. it is nerve wracking and anxiety provoking. but in the end, if you dont try you cant succeed. Gineen.. you are very lucky to have your friends and all that. i can understand how you want more. i think its natural.
Sooooo.. i went on a date tonight with a lady of POF..lol i actually had a great time. we have alot of shared interests. drove around and talked. ate some good food. then talked at my house for a bit while i fed my dogs and then she left. short and sweet with no weird awkward stuff. nice and chill. she is very recently single, which i do not like. but im not going to work myself up over it or over analyze it. if theres another date, cool.. if not, cool.. thats where i am tonight.
Congrats! Finally a normal one, eh lol. Yeah, you're right to be careful of the rebound ladies. But, enjoy it for what it is and see what happens. Before I started POF I was terrified at even the thought of having to meet a lady for coffee yet when I did it I really enjoyed it. The ladies I met were really quite open and we had some nice discussions. I remember one Filipina, who was 49, telling me "Whatis, we have to be careful because at our age we don't have time to mess up again" I loved that!
lol.. oh no.. far from normal.. tattoos..piercings.. crazy hair.. likes punk rock.. pretty much a girl version of me.. kinda wierd. as far as POF tho.. i dont think shes a stalker at least!! i actually prefer to meet the people sooner then later. found that if you message back and forth too much before meeting, it can get really complicated quick. for example.. if you like their personality, then you meet them and theres no physical attraction, i end up lookin like a d1ck.
Clay, do you ever have any problems with women when they find out you don't drink? My best friend has had a number of women ask him why he doesn't drink and some just won't go out with him because of it. I've never had that difficulty but the women I met, and the one I ended up with, didn't drink either. Just wondering.
actually i do. some women get all funny about it. i explain that i do not drink because it has caused alot of problems in my life. i also say it doesnt bother me if they drink. it doesnt. their choice, and i still enjoy going out dancing and to concerts. alot of that stuff takes place in bars. i buy drinks for people and still have fun. i just remain sober. the ones that have problems with it are the ones that i know i will not make it with. selfish.
however some women really appreciate the fact that i recognized i have a problem and am taking steps to change it. i appreciate that. i could actually care less if a woman drinks or not. as long as she can respect my program. not everyone is a drunk..lol
I might have a wine cooler once every couple of years so I see my self as a non drinker. I would love to find a guy that is the same in this regard. Not so easy, but I am not going to stop looking.

thats what i get from women. that they feel guilty because i am in recovery. its not a problem for me. i actually enjoy going out with people to the bar. i dont have an urge to drink. especially because i am figuring out my head issues which led to alot of my usage. there is no reason for a woman who is a "normal"drinker to feel guilty for having drinks. i dont get it, and im ok with it. i thought i would like to date someone from AA but im not so sure now. lots of problems there..lol
Hey, if she drinks that could make a cheap first date...taking her empties back to the Beer Store! (Oh yeah, you Americans don't have Beer Stores...so just imagine that you do)
...do we still take our empties back or is beer now sold exclusively in tin cans? Last time I went to the Beer Store it was with a friend, after many many years, and they were selling tee shirts and caps...and probably sushi too! It was like a mini shopping mall in a Beer Store, I was getting the shakes just trying to figure out how one actually finds the beer section anymore, but I do digress...like that could ever happen!
