If you care about and want to be in your step daughters life, I would be involved as much as she wants you to be, meaning as much as you can while respecting what she wants and needs.
Help her, talk with her, do whatever with her, but do it for you and her, not anyone else.
Do NOT talk about your W with her, even if she brings it up. Do NOT talk about your W with her family either.
