T^2, I just want to add to something you've posted. If your spouse is looking for another job, be supportive, listen and if they should ask for your assistance and/or opinion, by all means give it to them. However, if you are not asked to assist them in their job searches, then step back and remember...follow their lead.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
