Do I just stay dark and only commicate if she initiates it? The problem is she never contacts me so I am feeling like I need to do something!

Yes IMHO you should stay DARK and Move Forward with your life. You need her to pursue you, if not then you will be caught in a different cycle that you will never break.
Never is a very long time, and it is a possibility that you may need to accept.
This whole process takes so long that people tend to use words like never and ever.
Your relationship changed at BD and if you ever hope to build a new one you need to let go.
