Can you tell her directly that you have requested to only have contact via the partner and that she is not to call you again? Doesn't her business need you as much as you need her?

She just phoned & told me she is dumping me. It took some doing to get her to admit she is actually closing the company. That's how much of a bitch she is. I have less than a month to organize Ryan's care 12 hours a day. I live in a rural area. I am in complete shock.
I went in to tell my worker. She already knew. She was in shock as well. She loves Ryan. I told her I would get her back if she got mine. It's a start.
No one is home to talk to me. I called Josh, my daughter, my sister, my best friends. I have no one to vent to.

And true to form - ex just sent me a text this min. Asking about Ryan. How does he always have this uncanny ability to sniff out bad stuff. This is about the 3rd time in a row that he has done this at exactly the wrong moment.

Is there anyway that you can hire on some of the nurses that worked for the wench since they will be out of a job too? If you had 3 rotating with one as a sub, you would have a pretty good set-up.
Do you have to go through the government to get aide?
We are in the process of starting Finn with nursing care too...20 hours a week and it gives me heart palpitations...
What about a live in? You were interested in hiring SDA Lady at one point. There's lots of Filipino nurses out there, many of whom can't practice in the public medical system due to the need for skill upgrading. Nothing stops them from working in your setting though. Just a thought.
Great suggestions everyone! I should be stressed to the max right now but I seem to have a strange calm. I think this had to happen. I nearly strangled that woman twice in the last week. Josh told me I sounded awful on the phone for the past week. The toll she has been taking on me was incredible. She is the ULTIMATE bitch.
I approached the nurse who was working tonight. She wants to stay on. I will approach the other 2 when I see them. We lost 2 within the last couple of weeks. One got hired in her specialty. The other, I think, got wind of what was about to happen. I think she would work for me too. One of the girls was given the job as office manager - now that was taken away from her. Perhaps she would organize the others - I will talk to her about that as soon as I see her.
And Josh and I have also been discussing the live-in nurse/nanny. Had been thinking of it for a while but didn't want to give up the privacy. To tell you the truth - with the $ I could save - I might be able to afford a small apt nearby for her. Just another thought.
Keep the thoughts coming. I don't know much about hiring privately. Any info you can give me would help.
Fig - we started with 15 hours a week when Ryan was little. It was a Godsend to give us time with our other children. Now we use help for 12 hours a day. I do the other 12 (night time). 3 of our hours a day are government subsidized.
If we had a nurse/nanny we would still need 1 or 2 nurses besides to cover for days off etc. It's a lot of work but I have always treated his nurses very well. That's why I'm pretty sure they'd work for me if we can work out the details.
