Pattie, I can definitely relate to the zoo comment. I think I'm in the Monkey Cage sometimes.
So far it hasn't been too bad, but did find out that my oldest son will be deploying in a few days. We knew it was coming, but didn't know the date until today. Naturally, W is a little on edge.
Birthday was OK. W got me a humidor, something I've always wanted, but never bothered to get for myself. Kids got me this big binder to store CDs in. It holds like 208 CDs...I have 12. Now I have to go buy some.
OS leaves today. We all went out to eat last night and had a pretty good time. I think I'm going to miss having him around a little.
Overall things are going OK. The house is looking good and should officially be on the market here pretty soon. The other two kids are doing well. The stuff with W is just there, as always.
Some days I do pretty well and others I have a hard time mustering the energy to give a d@mn. She seems to be in a good mood most of the time but that's where it stops. Everytime we get some kind of progress, it's a small one. Then there is this plateau that stretches just a little too long. Then, just when I'm ready to throw in the towel she moves forward a little more...but not too much.
Well, you know this story. It's been going on for quite a while. She's afraid of losing control over what's going on. In the meantime, I keep looking for strength and maybe a few answers... Always wondering if this is as good as it's going to get? And can I live with it?
I keep asking the question and avoiding the answer...Hmmmm. Somehow I manage.
I am actually doing quite well. I have been working on fixing up my house, with the intent to sell Summer of 2005. It is getting close. My son is fantastic, turned into quite a little dictator at the young age of 22 months. Insists on watching "hoops" every night. I can't believe what a basketball fanatic he is. I had no idea that it started this early.
I am finding ways to beat the lonliness and solitude that sometimes creeps in. No significant other at this point in time. I had to give the last guy up for Lent.

Just dropping by to say hi. Not much happening, or I guess I should say changing, around the ole homestead. W still comes and goes as she pleases...I have noticed the past few weeks that she's very pleasant, as long as I don't say anything. So I work on keeping my mouth shut. I'm up to a couple days at a time...
Should sign with the realtor today and get a For Sale sign up in front of the house...things are starting to roll in that department.
D comes in this weekend and YS started track so he's back to coming home at 6-7 at night. Haven't heard anything from OS yet, although he might still be traveling. I loaded him up with phone cards and told him he better call his Mom and his Grandma or he'd be in BIG trouble. I don't think he was suitably impressed but if he doesn't call they always ask me why...like I'm supposed to know? He doesn't call me either. So, things are pretty normal, or at least what passes for normal here.
As you can probably tell, I haven't done a lot at work the past few days. Pretty much caught up and been checking out the bb more than I have in a while. I even ventured over into Newcomers...that's tough, so many people feeling like I felt when I first came here. The memories aren't pleasant and not something I care to revisit.
Tried to make a few posts but don't think I was very helpful. I certainly haven't found any sure-fire methods of navigating through this mess...So I think I'll just stick to rambling on my own thread...life is simpler that way.
