This time we’re going to go back much further in time, back to the summer of 1970 when little FY was just a 9, going on 10 year old boy who just received his first portable transistor AM radio. The following song went to number 1 on the top 40 charts, and I took quite a liking to the smooth melody of it. Of course at the time I had little idea what love was really about, but after 42 more years of life, 34 of them with my lovely wife at my side, I think I’ve learned a thing or two.
“Make it With You” by David Gates and Bread
Hey have you ever tried, Really reaching out for the other side? I may be climbing on rainbows But, baby here goes.
Dreams they’re for those who sleep, Life is for us to keep, And if you're wond'ring What this song is leading to I want to make it with you I really think that we can make it girl.
No, you don't know me well, 'N' ev'ry little thing only time will tell, But if you believe the things that I do, Then we'll see it through.
Life can be short or long, Love can be right or wrong, And if I chose the one I'd like to help me through, I'd like to make it with you I really think that we can make it girl.
Baby you know that Dreams they're for those who sleep, Life is for us to keep And if I chose the one I'd like to help me through, I'd like to make it with you I really think that we can make it girl.
Thank you for your continued support, my DB brothers and sisters. Bust On!

Neat song to begin the thread. You are the same age as me. 1970 is the year my dad got a Fender acoustic guitar for his four daughters' entertainment and we taught ourselves to play from a book. Fun times! Loved the "best of bread" album.
Why did you and W not end up having kids? I've wondered that. Choice or not? Does that play into her discontent?

Good way to stay out of the moderators way is to start a new thread when you are suppose to.
Yeah, my previous thread ran a bit long, but I was racking my brain for a couple weeks looking for the perfect new thread title/song. Besides, my first week here I told dbmod I loved her, (True!) so the mods cut me a little slack. P.S. I love you too Cadet!
RH: That's so cool that you girls played guitar. I played an instrument too, but it wasn't quite as impressive... the phonograph!
Wife and I chose to not have kids. Neither of us wanted to sign up for the responsibility, and we both enjoyed our freedom to do and go as we please. It doesn't seem to be a big factor in her recent discontent.
Her Mom, bitter with her own life, told wife "Never get married, and never have kids"!

Yes! Great song.
Is there someone you know, you're loving them so, but taking them all for granted. You may lose them one day, someone takes them away, and they don't hear the words you long to say
I would give anything I own, Give up my life, my heart, my home. I would give everything I own Just to have you back again. Just to touch you once again

Did enough people sign up for TKD? Do classes start today?
You were a brave man to put up your list of things you did wrong pre-BD! There are so many things I wish I would have done differently too!
It's encouraging to look back and see how WE've changed for the better in this whole process too!
Btw, you have such a great sense of humor! W is really missing out when she ignores you

HR says the class is a go, starts next Tuesday! They "think" I have 8, but the email announcing the first class went out late yesterday, and there has been some new interest. People are stopping me and asking about it. It's all very exciting!
While I have things I want to (and have) changed about me, I also know I didn't cause W to fall into this crises. I always supported her and did loving things for her, and she did for me. This is how we made it this long with almost no complaints and very few fights. I specifically recall a conversation several years before BD were I told her that, unlike some spouses, I never considered her a nag. (very sweet of me, no?)
Last Sunday W and my two sisters ran the Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago. She had been looking forward to this for months, and had a great time. I told her how proud I was of her for sticking to her training program and besting her run time. She is quite happy with herself right now.

Really? Hmmm.
In other news, it's now official. I'm in limerence... with me! Yep, and we all know these things only last (on average) for about 2 years, so hopefully W signs back up to the M before then.
Seriously, I do believe being content/happy with ourselves and our life is key to dealing with the rejection of our MLC'er. Do what you need to do to make this happen y'all!
