Last night H gave 3 to 1 odds on him leaving his folks this morning.

This morning he texted
Ok. So maybe I should stop being optimistic. Dad had a very rough night and may have a slight fever. I will be, hopefully, taking him to the hospital today. Mom has asked me to stay a few more days at least. Let you know more as it unfolds. Called off work until Friday.

H did get his dad to the dr. and learned he's just still having complications from his respiratory infection; prescribed a new inhaler. Whew!

S20 moved out today. Yes, this is the same one I figured in a recent post would be home at least one more year. Over the course of the last two days he heard from a friend who was looking for a house-mate, and ZOOM off S20 went. He still doesn't have his license. He enthusiastically tells me "its only 3 miles to work and I can bike that in no time!" This from a boy who phones from his bedroom to beg someone to bring him a piece of paper from the kitchen. He will be paying the equivalent of one of his bi-weekly paychecks every month just for rent. crazy LOL, but you're only young and dumb once I guess.

Ss16 and I spent all day (of my few and far between days off) moving S20. Finally finished that and Ss16 and I had lunch with D18... when S20 called and said a friend from our town had contacted him and said our dogs (a keeshond and a dobe) were loose and we had to rush home. The dobe is NOT stranger friendly, so we were very concerned. Twins rushed home, I dropped off D18 and headed home too.

Before I got home the twins phoned and told me the dog issue was resolved safely. Whew! I stopped to drop my car off because the brakes were making bad noises. Repairman drove me home. Walked into one of the worse stenches ever. Seems dobe consumed more than his fair share of cat poop which gave him a dobe sized tummy ache. So he gave my living room carpet a dobe sized helping of cat-poop-filled-dobe-vomit. Let me tell you, cat poop does not improve with recycling. Whew again.

Got to cleaning carpet when repairman phones with estimate.

FOURTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! Whew again. (In addition to brakes both front and rear the tire rod ends are nearly completely gone. Right front wheel being held on by one bolt. Car NOT road safe.)

If this is what days off are like, I'm glad I don't have more of them.

W,H - I know right? Crazy day lol.

H is of course still up with his folks. His mood seems very touchy, easily angered. For instance I texted him a question
"Only one per day?"
And he answered some time later,
"OK".
I wasn't sure what that meant and so texted,
"What's ok?"
He answered "Holy crap! You said only one per day and I said ok."

I can't figure out if I'm being obtuse in this particular instance... And didn't really know what to answer.

So I just said "OK" lol.... sigh.

Other than that, not much to report. S20 was cold last night - no heat in his "mansion" lol.

IDK what to do about the car situation....

Cheers

Whoa.

I'm sorry to say this, but I am glad I am not the only one whose H is cracker-jacked. Makes us feel even more sane to have someone to commiserate with.

And about the car, I know how you feel. My car needs repairs as well, but my costs are not as high as yours. I guess your H is gonna be no help in that sitch.

But you do need a vehicle, so I guess fix the one you have or buy another? What's the best bet?

Yikes. The dog, the car and then what?

The optimist in me sees that at least you got the car fixed before a major accident. And the dog didn't bite anyone.

Hope the dog learned his lesson. Sheesh.

Peace,
AJ

Good morning!

I am looking for a new car. The car that needs the repairs is 13 years old and in addition to needing $1400 worth of repair just to make it road safe also has some sort of engine condition that is "only a matter of time" until THAT would kill it.

So for now I'm driving H's truck. LOL! Just imagine how much he likes that smile For that matter, imagine how much I like that - not too much. The truck is big for one thing, much bigger than I am comfortable with. And its a gas hog and a half so now it costs me about $12 per day to drive to work instead of $8. smirk

But, winter MIGHT be ending shortly so then H can go back to riding his MLC motorcycle and I can drive his car. At least until I find a car of my own.

AJM, I too see the sunny side of that crazy day - could have been much worse. Well, maybe not much worse than cat-poop-dog-vomit lol. But the dogs weren't injured and didn't do any injuring either. My car DIDN'T fall apart on me or YIKES!! my kids while being driven. H isn't home... and I don't really know if that's good or bad? Its bad in the sense that it means his folks aren't well enough to take care of themselves - but I don't honestly know if its good or bad re: me, or, "us". Its certainly NOT financially good. The kids haven't had much to say about H's absence one way or another. I don't think H talks to them much, but I'm not really sure. H does always want to know what's going on with them, so at least he hasn't lost all interest.

The financial bug-a-boo is definitely rearing its ugly head though. There is a chance that my WONDERFUL JOB might go full time in July (fingers crossed, toes crossed) but $ is to the point that now I am considering putting in for some closing shifts at fast food land frown I really, really really don't want to have to do this. It would mean working 8pm until at least 1am and closing fast food is a fair amount of physical work. Left to my own devices I am in bed by 10 at the latest. And just normal fast food shifts leave me achy. Going to look for another alternative - no idea what this might be, but hopefully something better than fast food.

Thank you, Wishing,Hoping and AJM for stopping by smile and sharing in the cat-poop-dog-vomit (some things just have to be shared!) To both of you and to anyone else reading this ~ hope the sunshine finds you smile

Momma said there would be days like this right??

Yes sounds like a new vehicle is in order. I am on that path as well, but I am trying to get by as long as possible without a car payment. At least your H is willing to let you drive his vehicle. My H regards his car as his "baby" and sees it as a status symbol. And I really don't like his car anyway so I would do anything to not have to drive it.

Good luck on the job front. Yes fast food is horribly demanding. I worked it years ago and it was tiring then. I pray you find something that pays better and is less physically taxing.

Hope you have a lovely day!

You should be able to find a nice car this time of year at a reasonable price. Car dealers are trying to off load the 2012s and older and you just might find a honey of a deal. Do you have a CARMAX near you? They tend to have some good deals.

I pray that the job front works out for you. Fast food is not an easy job for anyone.

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

MizJ,

You are always so full of sunshine! Your H is a twit. And trust me, I know twits!

I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you - full time at the amazing job would be great.

Keep smiling and have a good day!
