Val,

I pondered your mom's sitch some more. I recall she has a chronic pain condition. So I am worried she's looking for a line to say, to excuse herself from trying anymore.

I hope you/she or your sister go see a doctor and get a real insight into what the heck is going on and if there's a relatioinship between this and her underlying condition...

as you know, my mom's got her stuff going on, and the "sandwich" generation phrase, is really hitting home for me these days.

It's tough to GAL & have a PMA, while you keep looking over your shoulder to make sure your mom's still there, and okay.

((( )))

Thanks gang. My mom went in for tests yesterday. We should know in 7-10 days. She called me yesterday... and I was in the foulest of moods. I need to call her back and apologize.

Interesting - today a mutual friend's daughter turned 10 months today. (This friend in considered x's friend but we always got along great and continue to keep in touch via the FB world).

Anyway - I made a comment on her photo about how big she got and an hour later - x made a similar comment.

Interesting thing - friend tagged us both in a comment back. We are the only ones she responded to specifically. She knows we are divorced and probably knows we don't talk. This girl has been like a sister to x.

I find it odd to include us.. I feel like she or someone is trying to tell me something.

Yes I know I'm mind-reading. Yes it could be nothing... I just wonder.

It's prompting me to take action.. because I'm tired of doing nothing. I posted because it was deserved knowing full well x might comment... and it didn't hurt seeing it.

I have a fun, witty response prepped.. but I struggle with whether I should post it on the thread itself or send it to x.

What about expectations? What about boundaries?

Yes.. yes.. I know!!

But He!! when did become so hard to do something so light and easy???

So I realize I have two threads going on.. but I wanted to keep the topic of my xw on its own.....

.... I have a date tonight.. well kinda.. it feels like a date.

Met a girl on an online dating website. Being completely honest - I highly doubt I will find my next partner at a bar... and I don't look gay. The chances of a woman hitting on me outside a gay something - is rare. So I thought I would give it a go.

I haven't met her but I like our conversations. Plus she says she's a horrible dancing yet wants our first meeting to be line dancing. That either speaks to her willingness to try new things or her interest in learning more about my interest.

Both are wins for me.

I'm nervous and excited, scared. I have physical chemistry with very few people. Not to mention, I dance ALOT so there is a good chance I will sweat through my dress.

This will be a good step for me though.

If anything - it will be a confidence builder for sure......

... or a complete disaster! haha

Eh it was okay.
You guys know me - I love to line dance. The place was small and the songs weren't very beginner friendly.

She was super great - very attractive and nice... but the place and what is going on with x put me off.. so I wasn't very surprised that she was like "I didn't sense alot of romantic chemistry between us".

TBH - I don't usually work that way anyway. I am usually friends first so when she said that she wanted to go line dancing again.. but as friends. I am mostly fine with that.

I'm not going to pursue, but friendship does take effort. She was rad enough for me to put in the work there.

The rejection is an interesting feeling... I was kinda upset about it.. I mean.. I am a catch. cool

But then again - I have so many emotions going on in my world right now - It's hard to not let it all bleed together.

Oh well. Keep on keeping on.

yes, val, you are quite a catch for sure but remember that, you also need to be available to be caught. smile i am sensing that you may not be totally there yet, especially with what is going on right now in your world with x. the feelings that came up for you about the date may yield some self awareness that helps you as you move forward.... one thing i am learning is to use EVERYTHING that arises as an opportunity to grow ((((((((((((((val))))))))))))
