Yeah, gotta admit, best to meet quickly. The long-distance guys may be married, scammers, or you just may invest a lot of time and then find out there's no chemistry in person.
That being said - I'll have to admit, my first online date was a guy who lived 11 hours away, we chatted for 2 months before I impulsively went up to see him (NOT recommended, but lucky for me, we hit it off great. I dated him for a year until his long lost college love showed up - we're still great friends, and his adult children still love me).
But it was very inconvenient and nowadays, I've got about a two hour drive radius that I'm willing to work in - that's it.
