Anyone had any luck on OkCupid? I was on there over 2 years ago, but I just posted a little profile tonight. Seems like some nice guys on there.
My older kids are in their 20s and they seem to prefer that site. I have no idea whether it's age related (let's hope not!) but they use it and have met nice people on it so far.
Good luck and please keep us posted!

I might have to try that site. Met nothing on match My friend tried to fix me up with her boyfriend's friend last night. He had no personality. I never realized dating would be this hard.
Gineen - the more you visit the site and look around at men's profiles, the more people will visit yours. And if you see someone you think you might like, go ahead and say hi. Some will answer, some won't. Just get out there.
For God's sake, are you going to get out there or am I going to have to have my brothers fix you up???!!
While sep, I dated. I did Not date a lot, but enough to feel good about men in general YET paradoxically, very well suited for my h.
Most of the dates make for good comedic material, I admit. But I really did meet 3 truly nice men. Out of 5...so yes they are out there.
Screen by talking on the phone for a decent amount of time. Just talking about current events or their children, will help you know in advance if they're half way intelligent. (And if their grammar or spelling was off, hearing them speak articulately, helps you realize they are smarter than their writing revealed...OR NOT...)
You also get to learn about their sense of humor, and they can hear yours. That's huge to me. (You know how I crave a good audience).
Learn before meeting- what they truly enjoy doing b/c it comes across clearer on the phone than their profiles.
I mean, do they REALLY LOVE "fine dining and walks on the beach"?? (OR did he mean, some pretzels and beer in front of the TV for the big game?)
Plus, who hates "Fine dining"?
Even Honey Boo Boo & her kin eat decent food that's well presented, on occasion...

well I thought about changing my screen name b/c when I came here, we'd been married 25 years, but it seems to confusing. Sometimes I call myself "25" when I meet DBers in real life... and then I'd have to change my screen name every year...can't believe we have to update our ages...come on, folks figure it out!

Other than online dating, where do you meet people? Oh, trust me...I'm 'out there' and I belong to over 50 meetup groups. I've promised myself to attend more 'singles' events, but everyone time I go there's an air of desperation that I can't stand.
I met a really great guy on Okcupid. The problem is, he lives in Oregon. But, I'm enjoying his words and just letting it evolve. We'll see where it goes....

Cross-country skiing. At least when I was in my 20's, the ratio of men to women was about 20 to 1. And the guys were all hot and totally buff.
Dang, I should get out there and rent some skis!!!
Otherwise, I have no idea. I don't work in a setting that's conducive to meeting men. Not a single likely guy has ever tried to pick me up at one of my music gigs. 4 out of the 5 guys I've dated since my divorce I met online - and the other one picked me up when I was shopping in a discount store.
