No, I don't think you can put indifference on the same level or middle ground as love and hate. Love and hate are passioned emotions and feeling. Indifference is neither. So I think that indifference is the opposite of love and hate. Love and hate are intertwined. I think it's more philosophical than psychological but I think they walk the same line and are not true opposites.
