It could be MLC, it could be that he never got over the incident 8 years ago, it could be any number of things. And from my point of view, they act like yo-yos. Every time they turn back toward you, they rocket back in the other direction.
What are you doing different? Keep doing what works. Take care of yourself. And most importantly realize that he is as confused as you are.
