Part of the problem with the "just wait out the affair" approach is that if OW/OM dumps them, it's highly likely that there then becomes an OW2/OM2 since you've never:
a. Learned to successfully lay out and enforce personal boundaries; and
b. Fixed those behaviors in yourself that may have contributed to the marital dysfunction to such an extent that your spouse thought it was okay to have an affair.
