hrm, Too bad you didn't tape his antics. Then on a nice day, you could play them back for him to see just how pathetic he was. Maybe he should have fallen over the coffee table, i.e., it might have knocked some sense into him. (One can hope.)
I do think the holidays and the decorations go to him. The guilt of what they are doing and feeling really does eat them up, especially if they at home, listening to carols and looking at decorations.
