Instead of giving her space, she might actually think that I simply don't care anymore.
You've already showed her you care, right? She should know, and if she doesn't that's her problem. If you feel the need to show you care all the time, then you're trying to fix HER (potential) problem. That will make it hard to give her space. If she initiates you can show you care, without pressuring.
