I was, wasn't I?

Um. I've got a million things to do. I've ordered some workbooks for my students. Trying to figure out which will work best with each student. Some book-keeping to do. Looking into hiring a painter to paint my bedroom and need to make a decision about that. Lots to do!!!

Kids are doing well. D18 got into the college of her choice and is beyond thrilled. I'm so happy for her. She really wanted this and the program this school has (exercise science)is rigorous, well-respected and right up her alley. Things are really looking up for her. I guess maybe that's part of my line in the sand. I'm not letting him screw this up for her-if he needs to go be crazy--then go be crazy somewhere else. We gave at the office. smile

Congratulations to your daughter. I'm sure she's happy that she was accepted at the college that she wanted to attend. I agree w/you...things are starting to look up for her.

So, what color are you planning to paint your bedroom?

You've got alot of things to do in the coming weeks, but I have faith in you that you will accomplish all of the tasks in record time.

I love the saying "we gave at the office". LOL!

He texted "Good Morning Ladies, Hope you have a good day:)"

I think this makes up for screwing a skank. Don't you? I'll be inviting him back home any minute. NOT.

OMG! I just had to laugh hard at your posting this morning!

What your h is feeling panic and desperation because you've put your foot down and aren't responding the way you should. He senses that you are moving slowly but surely in the opposite direction of where he thinks you should be. He's playing the pursuit/distance game w/you.

He really is trying to get back into your good graces...the crazy fool.

So, can I respond with texts he sent me over the last nine months?

How about... "I'm not ignoring you, just have no desire to communicate with you."

I suppose I just ignore?

Still curious about what brought this on. Is she banging someone new? Would love to ask... "you making sure Plan B is in place?"

Gawd. Can you believe I gave him my youth? What was I thinking?

Ick.

I wouldn't respond for a while. I love to make them sweat! If he gets desperate enough, he'll show up at your door.

Trust me, the ow is still in the picture. This is about knowing that you are where he left you, i.e., just like a toddler looking for mom. If you can distance yourself a bit from your situation, you'll see some humor in his behavior, i.e., just like hrm has.

It's up to you when you decide to respond, but I would let it go to see just how long he keeps it up.

You love this man and you have two precious daughters from the union...never regret that you gave up your youth for him.

He just called me. The high school tried to call him about D18. He, of course, didn't answer, but texted her.

He, then, called me. "Sorry for bugging you, know I'm not supposed to call you..."

I gave him the information and then said... Bye. He threw something else into the convo and I ended it.

How can she still be in the picture? I don't get it. I completely don't get it. This is wacko. And, yes, I love this man, but OMG is he crazeeeee.

Heather,
You are not getting it! It's MLC and MLC is irrational behavior and he's operating purel on emotional energy these days. You can't reason w/someone when they are highly emotional and he's going to be this way for quite some time. You can't make rational sense out of what he's doing, we all have talked about this on the board, i.e., MLC is crazymaking behavior and that's why you have to step way back and allow them to blow in the wind.

What's quite some time?

You know he acts all sorry and stuff and I begin to think he's seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Guess not, huh?

Teenagers act on emotions. Weird how similar this is.

Heather,
"Quite some time" depends upon the person in crisis. I can't tell you how long he's going to be irrational and doing crazymaking things. Some a year or two and others...3 or more years and then some never recover. Again, it depends upon the individual and his/her crisis and how THEY handle it.

MLC is all about going back in time to an age where their emotions were stunted. Yes, he is acting like a teenager. Everyone of them who flips the switch go back to a time where they were hurt.

Keep the focus on YOU and your girls.
