RLA, one word of caution with the advice "not to take what he says too seriously." My H is excellent at not taking seriously what I say. It leaves me with the feeling of hopelessness, like I don't have the ability to communicate what my issues are or what I need, because the minute I'm not b@tching about it, he assumes/acts like everything is fine.
For me, it would be nice if H would point out --- like 3 days later, --- "I remember you telling me that X was a real problem for you, so I made sure to X in consideration of what you said. I hope you'll let me know if I've got it right, or what you'd prefer instead."
To me, that would show me that he did take me seriously, and that he's actually implementing a consideration of me into his daily life.
