Thank you, FY, you explained that beautifully. I will try that after this post.

Thank you, Tori. I believe that Hs often don't have much stamina for others' health issues. My H wasn't v patient with his mother's ailments. With me, he tends not to get emotionally involved with my ailments but expects lots of sympathy for his. I'm sorry that your H felt you had too many health issues, Tori. I'm glad that they are now behind you though.

And Grateful, I'm v happy for you to be involved as an armchair doctor! The neutropenia could be genetic or I could fall outside the norm and it not be a problem. The only pre AD blood-tests I have were ones that were taken when I was pregnant so it seems that they can't be taken as representative of my normal profile. Whatever I have seems to come and go. It's just hard to know if it correlates with being on and off the ADs. I re-started the ADs this June and the neutrophils went up between July and Sept which led the consultant to believe that the two had to be independent but then they dropped pretty dramatically between Sept and Nov.

I'd never heard of treatment for neutropenia. I'll look into that. One of the haematologists said that they'd give me blood transfusions if I were competing in sporting events but that otherwise it wasn't necessary because I feel OK--as far as I can tell. Sometimes the platelet count is low. The red blood cell count is often low and then the volume and height of the red blood cells is off too. The neutrophil count is the one that is most consistently out of range.

How much of an armchair doctor are you, Regretful? Isn't neutropenia a fairly specialist topic?

Please respond on my next thread which I will come back and post here shortly!
