Kitti Kat,

I LOVED Shawshank redemption. Have you read the story?
His digging...talk about baby steps!! Won't say anymore for those who haven't seen the movie.

It's a short story that Stephen King wrote...I love his books!

I also saw "How to Lose a Guy" that's also a great movie...and yes, it's anti DB...lol!

Looking forward to the new post on that guy, Kitti!

Hugs!

mal - i am gonna go try to borrow it from the library!!!

POSITIVES

1) been concerned lately with a situation with younger step son - hubby gave the boys internet connection about 2 months ago but hasn't really inspected what they are doing with it. the other night some nasty stuff was coming over the im that younger stepson was on and hubby was around and showed him how to block.

well last night we heard some commotion in the room and we both came in here and as soon as i came into the room younger step son closed down his im - well he has been doing that alot lately

so when hubby and i went back into the other room, i mentioned that i was worried about his time on the computer with people he didn't know and what he was getting himself into - hubby played the same game of telling me he had it all under control and i told him about ss closing the im's when i was in the room - hubby said well he doesn't do that when i come in or else i would take him off the computer, and i said, well then why is it any different when i walk into the room

hubby again got defensive - i just let it go, it wasn't worth a fight

about 2 hours later he walks into the room with ss and starts to explain how he had a talk with ss and that he was not going to shut the im down anymore when i walked into the room - LOL

he is LISTENING to me, even tho he is fighting me all the way, he LISTENS!!!

2) so, ask me if we watched another movie last night??? lol - yes we did, it was "IDENTITY" - dang, if you want a movie to hold you on the EDGE of your seat???

3) hubby continues to do acts of service for me. he purchased without me knowing a headlight for my van (it's been broken for almost a year) and installed it yesterday - i made sure i thanked him profusely for everything he did yesterday (words of affirmation) - he seemed to really enjoy that

KK -- Your positives are SO GREAT! It seems as though you've really honed in on what makes your h tick.

I laugh when I read how many movies you guys watch...you sound SO MUCH like us...tho' we tend to go out to a nearby art cinema and watch the oldies...we've been going weekly to see old Bogart films.

I LOVE the "Shawshank Redemption". The novella (or is it a short story?) is so beautifully written. The movie is quite true to it, actually, in terms of presence...but, of course, the written word is richer. FYI, I believe the SS is called "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption".

Finally gonna read (today) the motivational articles you've posted!
