SD, this mantra (not the early bedtime one, the one before!) is EXACTLY what i needed to read tonight.
I am glad you are going to have a coaching session. I am sure it will do wonders for your perspective. I know they always help me.
Hope you are well SD (((( ))))

Hey picnic sisters. I love how Pema finds a silver lining, NG. I should have lots of inner strength by now!
Had the coaching session. She encouraged me to be more warm and playful, in monitored doses. Also to be more positive (less tentative) in responding to P's suggestions for activities. And pique her interest.
No R talks. Just focusing on projects and activities. No expectations that might lead to guilt in P. Appreciation as if she was a friend.
Hi SD am happy to read you found your session positive.
You sound like you are in a better place and that makes me HAPPY.

Hey picnic sisters. We're exhausted here. Been working long and hard on the roof. P's definitely tired and grumpy today. Not only does she not really like my pea soup, but I'm an intense person to be around. "It's not really relaxing."
In general, I think we've been working together really well. Yesterday, I had a headache and P reported that I was grumpy. Today, she wasn't feeling so well and was definitely grumpy. Tomorrow, an insulation crew will be here and P is planning to escape for a few hours and do errands. I noticed that I was a bit stressed and disappointed by that, but it's probably a good idea for her to take a break.
She's planning to pack up her stuff on Monday and leave Tuesday. I'll likely be back on the road by then. There'll be plenty of time to process once she leaves. Meanwhile, I ought to review my notes from the coaching session.
house projects are stressful in nature. sounds like you both are managing the stress pretty well.
i would imagine that a lot of feelings are coming up with her departing soon.. keep that superhero cape on and come back to the blanket when you need to.. and remember that this is a marathon.. and her leaving does not end it, it is just another mile on a long road...

Thanks, NG. Yeah, lots of feelings floating around. Looks like I'll be here through P's departure.
I've been observing. Collecting data. Lots of information to process at my leisure after P leaves. The oddest one lately is telling me one friend after another who she's invited to visit her at her new place. I've never received an invitation of any sort. Obviously that doesn't even occur to her or she wouldn't be saying that stuff to me. Go figure.
DB coach basically said, "This is what MLC looks like." She also had a funny line about encouraging me to take the calculated risk of being more affectionate, "I'll do the calculation, you take the risk!"
Hi SD, How are you today? how is the roofing going? When does P leave?

P left this morning. She asked for assurances that I'd send her photos of my continued progress on the roof and that I'd take the next step toward firming up winter vacation plans. We had a good day yesterday, WOA going both ways. Went out to dinner to a nice place we hadn't been before.
This morning, I got a real hug as she said goodbye. Then she drove off with the cats and the last of her stuff. Sad morning.
Now it's raining. Can't work on the roof. Need to get my non-roof routines back in place.
