I noticed during the summer that H seemed to be making more of an attempt with the boys. Then at the end of August, he tells me how he knew he was angry months ago and that he was trying to be better with the boys.
I think the fact that our kids are so young has helped in many ways. He didn't need to explain anything to them, or have any big talks. He just needed to spend time with them and love them, which he has done and continues to do.
I'm guessing since your kids are older, your H may be afraid to face them. I'm thinking they may not exactly be DBing him...
That is very good news if he shows interest in the house. Home repairs are a good thing! Baby steps...
Very glad to hear about your work. Idle time is a bad thing! Hope the next few days serve as a much needed distraction for you.
And if it makes you feel any better, my H had on his cranky pants too today.
