Hey Ellie!

I will look for that book. I had the Tightwad Gazette books, still use a lot of her stuff. (Many of her recipies are standards in this house.)

Our house has only been shown 4 times. It is most likely a pricing issue. And the fact that it is so unique that there just are not any compariable properties. We have almost 5,000 sf, on over an acre, 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, expansive Kaneohe Bay/ocean views, Koolau Mountain views, pool, firepit, 4 car carport, one car garage, it is an over-the-top house.

I have said that I won't get too excited about reducing the price until the house gets shown 20 times. Because there are not many houses like ours. It was actually built by the one of Hawaii's "royal" families. If you know Hawaii history, you would know that the man who would be king, grew up in this house. He is one of the exceedingly rich Hawaii trust heirs.

Anyone who buys this house will need a housekeeper and a gardner. We have been doing all the work ourselves. And I feel the stress of maintaining such a large property didn't help our marriage. Not to mension that our initial mortgage was a crazy one done by Washington Mutual, and we took an offer from them to change our mortgage later, but it turns out we should have gotten a lawyer and went to court with it.

I'm glad to hear your son has made such a positive change. I need to get back on my exercise plan. I am maintaining, not losing.

Always good to hear good news!

Aloha,

Wendy

PS I still think that my X and I were suffering from a mutual MLC when we bought this house!

Wow, yeah - 5,000 SF? Does sound like an MLC to me. wink

Here's hoping you're able to get out of it with some equity intact. And SOON, with your sanity intact!

Your house sounds lovely, Wendy. You'll get the right buyer, I'm sure.

Let me give up the need to know why things happen as they do.

I forgot to brag about the great customer service I got from the air force. I faxed my paperwork in for the former spouse benefits determination on Friday and Tuesday morning got an email with my approval letter. Tuesday afternoon I went and got my new ID card and got my insurance reinstated.

I am breathing a sigh of relief because I was a little worried about being uninsured. I did not get reassigned to the same provider, but he had moved me to his service before, and I'm sure if I call him he will put me back on his team.

I have been having a strong desire to get the heck out of here for a little bit. I am looking at some yoga retreats. I'm not sure I should spend any money, but keep thinking my anxiety level cannot stay where it is.

I found a nice retreat in the cute little town in Nevada City, where I keep saying I'm going to move. Funny, because I Googled yoga retreats and that place came up. I was looking at their website, then noticed it was Nevada City. Do I need more of a cosmic coincidense?

My high school homecoming is coming up, and I said years ago, when I was still in high school, that someday I would come back for homecoming. Maybe this is the year! My old high school is pretty much between the Sacramento airport and Nevada City, CA.

I got out on my paddleboard today, saw two huge turtles. I think they hear the paddleboard and pop up to check it out. No shark sightings today....

Wendy,
I am very happy to see that your paperwork was approved and you got your new ID card, etc. In this day and age, you don't want to be uninsured because you just never know what could happen. If you like the person who had you on his team, give him a call and see what he can do. Give yourself a little peace of mind by doing so.

I'm sure your anxiety level is through the roof. I think you should go to your class reunion and have some fun. Maybe your destination is Nevada City since you keep running across it. I think it's time you checked it out.

Enjoy your beautiful weather and the paddleboarding. Please be careful!

Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to.
The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.

Used to love to visit Nevada City (lived in Reno for a while). I think you should do it!
