Wendy, I'm very sorry to read that the insanity continues. Please be careful.
As for your injuries, I'm glad you are resting today. Are you sure you didn't do more damage than just bruising? The turtles are something else, aren't they? I can remember almost sitting on one before I realized what it was!
Please take care of yourself!

The knee I banged is my "bad" knee. I had problems with it since I was a kid. When I was 31 I had a Quad release and they cleaned out behind the kneecap. It has always been a problem, And the thump made it mad. I willwatch it, and go in to the doc if it gets worse.
Ellie, I will go change my FB again. I keep thinking I have it set to private, but maybe I'm not doing enough. I will google how to make it better.
Thanks Friends!

I went out to SUP again today. Saw lots of turtles. My knee is feeling better. The bruise is lovely! I had left my boar4d for my friends to use at the cabin they rented for a couple days. So I got in a ride when I went to oick up my board.
Got home in time to take more photos of the Blue Angels screaming over my house again. It never gets old. My house is right by the mountain and they turn several times right at our house.
Went this morning to do what I was told I had to do to get my new military ID under the 20/20/20 rule. Instead I had a clerk who loudly said: "I'll have to confiscate your card." So I got taken off the insurance and I had to fax stuff into San Antonio for a determination. So much for going to peoples web sites to know what to do!
Who know how long that will take to get done?
We went out into the parking lot. I expressed dismay at not having gotten the ID and my X yelled at me: "Well you're the one who divorced me!"
And when I asked him what else I should have done he didn't have an answer. Funny.
I'm going out tonight, and going to have some fun. I'm not sure where I'm going, or what I'm doing. But I am not sitting home!

Wendy, I am so sorry that they took your ID. I would follow up Monday morning to ensure that the person who took it knew what they were doing/saying.
Plesae be careful w/your knee!
Please try to enjoy your weekend.

Thanks Snodderly! Funny thing is I slept like a baby last night. I went over to the Marine Corps Base and they had a free party in honor of the air show participants. So I got to mingle with them, talk shop with some maintanence folks (That is what I did in the air force), hold some babies, eat free dinner, listen to music, and at the end of the hula show the performers went out into the audience and gave out 12 leis. They gave me one!
I said to the young woman who put it on me: "I'm no one special." And she said: "The lei choose you." So she got a second kiss and hug for that sweetness. I do truely love Hawaii and her people.
he most interesting part of the evening was when a mermaid appeared in the pool. There were about 100 kids there, and they were transfixed. About then the Blue Angels team made their entrance. Bet they never go upstaged by a mermaid before!
Aloha,
Wendy

I'm glad you got out of the house and enjoyed yourself. Nothing better than being in the company of happy and friendly people to make you feel better.
I'm sure the Blue Angels got a kick out of the mermaid too!

You are a good inspiration for me ... a year older than me and you paddle board! And you write well where we can picture a lot of the scenes.
Interestingly enough, my r.e. class instructor left Thursday for a month in Hawaii, her favorite vacation retreat. We gathered up some cash for her to buy a lei upon arrival, for she said they cost about $25 now.
I DO intend on pursuing r.e. I've been back & forth but I've gotten this far -- might as well try it. I got a 60% on the final class exam and was thrilled in that I hadn't cracked open a book since Week 2 of the 6-week class & much of the time in class I spent texting or making personal goals for myself! Lol! I think with some study and application I can pass the state exam!!!
I'll log your ideas, for future use, about it that you posted on my thread! Thanks so much!

Still no offers on the house, Wen? Do you think it's a pricing issue, or a staging issue? What else can you do to get it sold?
And how's the job hunting going? Are you selling any of your crafts yet? What about those lamps that one lady wanted to carry in her gallery? It would be cool to have a part-time day job that paid the bills, and a second income from your art.
Btw, if you haven't read it yet, get the book Your Money or Your Life by Dominguez. And if it inspires you, then get the Tightwad Gazette by Dacyzyn. I think these would resonate with you, and might open up your thinking about money and your future.
Also - although it's somewhat geared to younger readers - check out the blogs by Mr. Money Mustache and Extreme Early Retirement. Just to shake up your thinking about your financial options and plans.
(P.S. - you'll like this - my oldest son came home from college and is following a Paleo diet with me and going to the gym three times a week with me. He's lost 16 lbs in the last 6 weeks He's so excited to see it finally coming off, and without suffering or starving. He's got another 45 lbs to go, but at this rate, he should be there by February or sooner.)
