why not join dfb and me in a Body for life 12 week challenge? We are going to start next week. I will have to be totally stealth about any dieting, of course, but I need the impetus to get back into shape.

Ellie -- Yah, I saw that you guys were doing that! I've read BFL before and just wondered about my ability to STICK with it! I find the WW stuff more flexible for me...maybe TOO FLEXIBLE!

Anyway...I put BFL back on reserve at the library so I'll pick it up and take a new look!

Hey Ms. Pam and Ms. Karen,

thanks for the visits, girlfriends!

so...h just called and sounds like he's moved away from the brink of the worst part of his illness. He still sounds tired and coughy and all but the last 48 hours have been scary in how crappy he's felt. Seems as though he's on the mend!

Positives:
1. my presentation at school went pretty well...I feel as though I'm back in the groove of studying again!

2. I called and emailed h a few times during the day/night. I have to admit that I have a VERY hard time striking the right balance when he's sick....between taking care of him and smothering him! I think I did OK yesterday but I really feel like I'm flying w/o a net! Last night I tried to just go with the flow...sit with him after I got back from class...tried to match his energy level but in a really open and warm way...not sure that makes sense to anyone!!!

3. I signed up for WW and did GREAT re. eating and exercise yesterday. I had been trying to count points and log my exercising on my own but something about seeing it on the WEB made me more disciplined eating wise yesterday!

And from today:
4. I did my flybaby routine this AM for the first time in MONTHS. I had been trying to do it at night but it was always the first thing to GO if I had something else going on. I did it this AM while I was waiting for the coffee to brew...THIS is going to work!

So do the WW diet, but join us for the exerecise part! The BFL diet isn't really that strictly defined anyway - really very compatible with WW, just so long as you make sure to get an adequate amount of protein in. It's the weight training that will really give you results.

Well...I should be good to go on that! Spent 40 mins this AM doing my "body sculpting for women" freeweight program! I'll compare my exercise list to BFL and see what I can ADD!

Just a quick posting of positives...I've got conflicting stresses of work and school stuff keeping my head aswirl!

1. h is still sick...he had a burst of energy yesterday morning but then crashed pretty hard in the afternoon. This is definitely NOT my comfort zone...not sure how to react to him, etc, but I'm trying to be relaxed and open and calm! We were hoping to go see a movie last night but decided to stay in...the cool thing was that we were able to get the same movie out of the library!

2. we snuggled in bed while watching the movie

3. h asked me a bunch about my day, school, etc. He really, really makes an effort to show a concerted interest in what's up with me!

YIPPIE!!! Things sound great!

My only sick advice is to not "coddle." I don't think men (in general) like to feel dependent, so be helpful, but not act as if he is helpless. yaknowwhatimean?
