Arsene, isnt it surprising that they at least act as though they aren't very 'proud' of what theyre doing, yet they dont do differntly. Thats a pretty interesting dynamic, I had a friend tell me that maybe she felt 'guilty' going to church and my response was then why doesn't she try to work on things? Its a mystery to me. And your exactly right about changing things...I think its simply a small security blanket for us to keep the status quo all we can.

It really is the little things, isnt it? A small conversation. A smile from your wife. A hug from my H. It really IS the little things that make life almost perfect again. Even if its just for that small bit of time...

I think that losing sight of the small things is what gets you here, and if you ever get out of here it better be imprinted on your mind because complacency, boredom, straying....whatever it is, you can bet its caused by forgetting to recognize the small things and when you do that its incredibly easy to find problems.

Arsene: I love your confidence WHEN we save our marriages. I certainl have the feeling that long term mine is going to work out in my favor. Im afraid its going to take a while and I know im going to have to walk very gently for a while b/c I just dont think right away she's going to be willing to do any of the heavy lifting so to speak.

I do have a question for everyone today. My wife and I built our home about 5 years ago and then eventually added a large detached garage that im still in the process of finishing. One of the things that she mentioned to my father in law when this all started was how we used to do projects together and she always enjoyed and has missed that. We had been talking for quite a while about painting the inside of the garage b/c its never been done, actually we were planning to do it this summer but things got a little sideways obviously.

So I know approx. what color she wanted the ceiling and walls to be but not exactly so I was thinking of grabbing some color tabs from Home Depot and having her tell me what color she wanted to ceiling and walls to be so that I can get it done. It would be a pretty big 180 for me at least recently to spend a weekend doing something like that rather than being at the lake or on the golf course, and it would also be a big act of service that I could do for her. I have no intention of asking her to to help, just wanna know what color she wants it to be.

On the one hand I don't wanna be her freaking handyman and do every project she wants done, on the other hand me putting off projects and them never being completed was a big deal for her, im alot more laissez faire, but she wants to see things finished. And besides if this thing doesnt work out the way that im hoping the house will probably have to be sold anyway so its going to have to be done before that can happen....anyone have thoughts? Im open to hearing from a veteran

suppo: I must admit that made me smile. If we're the Freshman now and it takes me as long to graduate as college did I better buckle up for one long ride.

You and me both...LoL!!

I look at how long some of these LBS's had to go through their sitch (Starsky, Denver, Etc.), and I can say that by their outlook, attitude, and changes...Then it is all worth it! I have over 16 years invested with my W, and I am in it for the long haul...Cause in the end, I would go through this (1 month per year of M per MWD DR book) to have another amazing 50 years with my W.

I have Faith & Hope for all of us! We just have to keep fighting the good fight, all while growing & bettering ourselves in the process.

On 3 Go...Freshman, Freshman, Freshman!! smile
