When he gets back, see if he will be open to a backrub or something along those lines just to offer some comfort. You might be surprised. He probably wishes he could cry on your shoulder right now. I have found my own H to be very stubborn in asking for this kind of support and I probably should have been more forthcoming with it instead of withholding.
