I'll have to look up the hammer head. I dissected a tiger shark... damn, and she was pregnant. Killed off our own species.

I do understand the why's of things... but I still guess I'm like doubting Thomas and need some sort of explanation from him when he's ready.

But today is not the day. I'm still drinking coffee and hovering here around the computer...

Just keep swimming!

BTW, did I mention your real name is Carcharodon carcharias and you are a member of the Lamnidae family? Really impressive pedigree: sharks evolved 100 million years before dinosaurs did (about 350 million years ago)... Talk about blue blood! Whales are relative newcomers: evolved about 50 million years ago. Man is a total parvenue: only evolved 1.8 million years ago... and has been 'civilized' for roughly 11,000 years.

Also, nobody knows how long a white shark lives. The best guess is about 100 years... not a sea turtle but close.

It has been recently discovered that great white sharks can jump out of the water. They jump into the air from deep water in order to catch fast-swimming seals. That probably explains how you ended up in Denver... must have been SOME seal!

For Trish: here is the recipe for the best, most subtle, blood cologne: mix one drop of blood in 25 gallons (100 liters) of water. You can add two, if your shark partner has catarrh, but that is seldom necessary... Apply liberally as needed...

Well, Meredith, hammerheads or Sphyrna mokarran are fairly normal sharks. They actually eat rays (teacher beware) and are found in tropical and sub-tropical waters worldwide. They are smart enough to migrate seasonally to cooler waters during the summer.

And they weigh 500 to 1000 pounds, so do not worry if clothes don't fit...

Crap, does this mean that Mr. Wonderful is a seal and not a fish? I'm having difficulty believing that I jumped this far inland for one lousy seal... after all, this shark has roots on the east coast (as well as the west in adulthood).

What does that say about me?

I might need some personal intervention after this... "I NEVER KNEW MY FATHER...."

SOOOOOO....we can't eat fish but we can eat seals and rays?

H is definately a sting ray...in fact, we could rename him Ray. Rays are not fish (or are they?? business major here...) so may I eat the ray? Please?

Ah, Betsey... the ultimate question... How long will this take??? And if he is willing to get wet, why NOT go swimming... but as you said, they seem to have been shark bait before...

So, we must have the patience to Keep Swimming and keep watching... if we pursue them, they will rapidly swim off... just have to keep the waters calm, safe and warm and let them find their own way into our little harbor.

Relax. Appreciate. Be calm. Laugh. Enjoy. Be secure. Be loving. Be loved. Don't personalize. Don't ASSume. Accept. Be grateful.

Sorry, Meredith: rays are fish. Remote cousins of sharks as a matter of fact, also with a cartilaginous skeleton, not bony like other fish...

So, Mr. Sting Ray is not for eating... Try kelp!

Oops, sorry. I got carried away with the biology... Catarrh is a chronic inflammation of the lining of the nose and sinuses... It also can happen acutely, for instance when you have a cold.

And, no, if you are Nemo, I would not try the new cologne on your H... even if he is very well along the 12 steps program... Sometimes there is such a thing as being too trusting...

And you are right. It was to Patty, not you, that Betsey was recommending the blood cologne... Sorry, but, see, now you know which perfumes to avoid... Pass the recipe along...
