I haven't read much of your sitch yet, but try not to give up on at least LISTENING to all sorts of advice at this stage. It doesn't mean you have to ACT on all of it, but relationship advice-gathering is a little like "church-shopping" -- you're not going to find the perfect one, and you have to be careful you don't just go somewhere where everyone blows smoke up your kilt and tells you what you want to hear, kwim?
I read your thread on "that other place," and I have to say, I agree with what most of them are trying to tell you (at least about the "always good to see a lawyer to better understand your rights, and to protect yourself" thing).
The good news is, I've known Serenity a long time, and she ain't no kilt-smoke-blower!
