Kimmerz, Only you can control just how much contact you have w/him. If you don't want to be texting all of the time, then don't respond to his texts all of the time. He's obviously testing the water to see if you are still out there for him and yes, he's keeping you on the side just in case he may need to run home to mom.
Set your boundaries and stick to them when it comes to communication.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
