It is a decision he has already made. It's about clarity for the kids, because they don't understand what is going on. (They know only that he stays "with a friend" not OW)
I must also clarify this. I am not meaning I want DH to confess to the kids about OW. But to explain that he wants to leave the family home. I haven't a clue about when one would discuss a third party, but certainly now or near future is NOT the time!
