Like I said Kat, I didn't get to go to my reunions but just recently I had a conversation with 6 people I went to HS with while we were commenting on a friend's birthday on FB. 4 of them, who were some of the more popular people in school were commenting about how insecure they felt in HS. Rejected, scared, nervous, etc.....WOW! Eye opener!! They intimidated the heck out of me because I thought they were just 'so cool' and had it all figured out while I was a total mess.
Perception is everything isn't it? LOL

Oh it isn't so much that I am heavier now...most people 30 years and 4 kids later would be. I was super skinny though. Not so much now. Mostly, It has been from what I have heard the old cliques get together. No one from my old gang will be there. I only really was friends with a couple of the people that I know will be there.
I used to take the really hard classes and was in musicals, plays and the performing groups at school. We performed so much that those were the people I knew really well. We weren't popular but you could find us in all the non-sport activities. Hey, somone had to do all that stuff! lol And we weren't all seniors together.
I know I have done a lot in the time since graduation. Like I said I think it is mostly being shy.

Kat: I think most people are shy. Truly, I know that I am. No one really believes that but I still am in lots of situations. Josh is. My kids are. Yet all of us handle ourselves well as adults.
Like Mish points out - those that were the really "cool" people did a lot of things in high school to "BE" cool while some us chose to do things that were considered more "uncool" but we still stayed true to ourselves. I danced all through high school although very few people did and I was sure they'd make fun of me. Then the principal asked me to twirl baton in front of the school. I was terrified but agreed to it and guess what? Some of those really cool people told me how much they wished they could do what I did. LOL
It's funny but we all seem to be on the same playing field when we grow up. FB does tend to break some of the ice before the reunion so find out from there who will be there, who you can sit with etc.
Who knows? You might find a single guy you went to school with that you now find "hot".
Well a girl can hope right? I know as I got to college, no one really cared about all that stuff that we did in High School. I am just guessing based on how it was with my ex when he got around his high school buddies...they all regressed.
I am going to have fun.(I will be telling myself that for the next month and a half).

I've never been to a class or school reunion. There was one announced on FB once and when I checked all those planning to attend there was either no one I knew or no one I liked...except my sister and I can see her anytime! Just go without expectation and enjoy whatever comes your way...and be proud that you pushed yourself to a place you wouldn't normally go! Hey, don't let any of the "hot" guys buy you ice cream, OK. I'll be po'd lol.
This will be my first reunion. I got a few of us together from my singing group last year. It was a blast. These were a few of my nearest and dearest though.

It has been bugging me, trying to figure out what mix my little Cooper is. Last night I started to look at Westie/Jack russell mixes and low and behold two pictures that look just like him!! Great a jack russell loves to bounce off the walls!
He does get some rough and tumble play with S16. I play fetch with him quite a bit and take him out several times a day where he just runs to get all that energy out! He also loves his Momma and follows me everywhere. He is so fast sometimes, I turn around and it like poof, he is there. lol He still has his first stuffed puppy but the only part with any stuffing is the head and only one squeaky is left and that is in one of the front feet. The next puppy I got him, he promptly tore off the ears and please remember he LOVES his puppy! He does have a duck thats squeaker sounds like a duck. He has had it a month and has only fully torn off one wing. No stuffing coming out...yet. Knock on wood.
So glad I got him, even when he drives me crazy. Yep sounds like a typical guy to me.

Taking a huge step and visiting Newcomers. The only person I used to visit there was gForce but he visited me on Infidelty first. I did not start in Newcomers. I started right at the root of the problem.
It has been hard for me to go so far back into the pain and help others but I am going to give it a go. If I start getting gloomy, mention it quick!
