I lived in Kentucky from 1977 to 1981. That is one basketball crazy state so I was rooting for Big Blue. I finally won my company pool in the process. Only $25 though.

I am sure that I can name a couple of other states that rank right up there with them! I think there coach is crooked. Lost a ton of respect for them when they hired Calapari. Talk about lowering your standards.

I don't consider D1 college football or basketball amateur sports. It's big time business. People get on Calipari all the time, but I think all of the big time programs cut corners. Money, money, money.
That's why I prefer pro sports. There's no hypocrisy. We know everyone is getting paid.

WAs talking to my parents today over lunch and the subject of my boys came up. I mentioned how S16 has had a few girlfriends but how mostly that was him going over to her house while her parents were there or meeting up at the movies. He isn't even in a rush to drive!
His big brother though is so wrapped up with his girlfriend. she talks about marriage and their future and I am just thinking whoa...you guys are just 18 and 19. Enjoy your early adult years, no need to rush anything.
My Dad brings up K and how we were so "serious" until right before I was going to Denmark. I said ok, but I wasn't over at his house all of the time. My Dad said I had a hard time with us breaking up and how I just couldn't let it go. I didn't see it that way, though it took a long time to get over him. Best to leave that all alone, I don't need to be a back up or second choice.

Class reunion is in a month and a half but I have to pay today if I want to go to the Buffett dinner, semiformal thing. I don't know. Many of my friends will not be there. There are a few things that I can go to that are pay as you go.
Just really not sure I feel about it. Thirty years ago since I have seen alot of these people. Ugh, I hate this kind of thing.

I was in the same situation as you about 12 years ago. I wanted to see everyone but I could only think about the fact that I had gained weight (I was by far the skinniest kid in my school). So I declined. And a couple of days later I heard from EVERYONE about how much fun it was, that I was missed, that they saw so and so etc. And BOY - did I regret it. I failed to notice that I was very successful in most aspects of my life - I just saw the one thing I was not proud of.
I had the opportunity again about 5 years ago at our schools 50th. I did not miss out this time. Despite the fact I was now divorced and things were not as peachy as they had been before. I WENT! And I LOVED it. And people were all different. Some were wealthy, some were not, some were healthy, some were not. I saw my Jr High Crush (who made me feel great), I spent time talking to Ex's cousin (who died 7 months later unexpectedly) and I renewed many friendships and I stay in touch with them on FaceBook.
For me - there is only one piece of advice to give you.
Big step forward!!!!! I haven't gone to any of mine. My 10 year I was too scared to go and my BFF wouldn't go either. We were both too ashamed of the way we looked. The 20 year I wasn't able to leave my mom to go so I missed it. I might have just sucked it up and gone if I could have.
I think you'll have a great time!
Did any of those 97 tornadoes come anywhere near you? I was watching the news and didn't see exactly where they were.

Kat: I was a bit overwhelmed by going too. Weird how we are defined by the people we went to high school with. Silly! Most of them are pretty normal - not the perception we have of them. Watch 13 Going On 30 or Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion for a reality check - LOL.
It helped me to prepare ahead - plan outfits I looked great in. Fresh haircut and colour etc. When you feel good about how you look - it shows.
