so much of what makes the memories so painful is the ability to say they are really over, or will the monster come back out of the closet. You hit it straight on when it's learning to trust again, when it didn't have to be learned the first time around. It helps when the cheating spouse validates that the trust is deserved, but it is still a solo journey. I would hate to think I could never trust again...
