It's nice to hear someone say that - I with my w did.

Of course I've been googling various things over the last few weeks - particularly around being a single father and daughter with disability, now if you really want to see a great person and father click on this link - I am in awe of this guy and if I can achieve 10% of what he has, I feel I would have done a good job and I'm only 20% of the way through the blog entries.

All in all - feeling pretty good right now, my W is becoming less and less part of the equation - do I want to remain married - why yes, but not to who she currently is, so maybe D will be good for both of us

Grmpy - I can truly say it's fine. It's not my #1 choice, but that's ok - we don't always get what we want.

Mach - Does feel pretty good, I have a plan and provided it works out we'll be ok. If it doesn't work out, you know what we'll still be ok, just adjust a little.

Well it's still "full steam ahead".
W confirmed the house is going on the market this week at the expected asking price. I thanked her for taking care of the details with the realtor.

She also told me that I'll be getting another counter-offer from her lawyer.

I backslid a little - wife said "you won't give me 6 years" - meaning the alimony timeframe she wanted (counter-offer was 4 years), I said "I'll give you the rest of my life" and had to walk away.

Need to use the Costanza "Serentity Now" line instead of reacting immediately.

Sometimes Peter, one just has to say their piece and be ok with it.

As bad as it seems at the moment, you taking the high road makes you the better person. Someone only a fool would leave.

Quick Journal.

W and I continue to be cordial - nothing more than that. I still haven't received the counter-offer from my W's L and she still to my knowledge hasn't filed. All quiet at the moment.

I continue to GAL -
Went to a cooking class on Tuesday night - that was fun and one of the ladies there was flirting a little. Nothing to act on, but gives the ego a little boost.
Usual Soccer & drinks on Weds night.
Still not smoking - that's a good thing.... W hasn't noticed, but as we've barely seen each other that's not surprising.

4 weeks to my west coast trip - very much looking forward to it.
Plans are to take D7 skiing this weekend and a trip to the mall with D10.

Quick journal -

Had a great weekend, took the girls to the mall to do a little shopping and so my D10 can walk around the mall in her stroller.
Dropped girls off at in-laws and went to dinner with an old friend on Saturday night, talked a little about my sitch - he says I look and act 100 x better than I did the last time he saw me.
Took D7 skiing on Sunday AM - she's a much better skier than me and was complaining we weren't doing the difficult runs..

Photographer from realtor will be coming around the house today to take pictures - we've priced the house 10% above the appraised value - so not sure how long it's going to take to sell.

W broached the subject of discussing with D7 - need a little advice on this one. It'll soon be obvious that we are selling the house, do we explain the D at the same time? Not sure if hitting her with one big thing (moving and D) vs telling her about moving now and then the D at a later date closer to the time. Anyone have similar experience?

Valentine's day - never really meant much to my W and I (she was always working) - I bought cards and a small gift for the girls, I helped D7 make a card for my W from all of us.

Well no update for a week - does that mean I am detaching from everything? I certainly feel like I need less support than I needed in the past when I was a complete mess. Thank you everyone - I am in a much better place.

Still spending as much time as I can with the girls and my W is doing her own thing...

Not heard back from her L - and she's not filed, not sure why butnot my problem right now...

House is now on the market - D7 asked about the sign in the front yard, we explained that we need to save some money and that we will be moving to a smaller place and that she was going to help decide where going to live. Haven't mentioned D to her yet and see no reason to worry her.

It's been a while since I posted.
I've been busy with work and any free time I have has been spent with the girls.
Not much opportunity to GAL, but that changes tomorrow.
I'm heading to the west coast for some golf and to visit my sister.
Very much looking forward to it, though will miss seeing the girls every day.
As far as I know, my W has not filed, and I've not heard from her lawyer in almost a month - really don't know what the delay is, not my problem - the door is open, but my W won't step thru.
There are obvious steps that she still plans to D, she's pushing the realtor for the sale of the house and she got books out from the library re: telling your child about D.
It's her path and she has chosen to take it. While sad, all I can do is make a good life for me and my girls.
