It sounds like you planned your trip really well, or all the pieces fell into their place that they needed to go. Either way, this time you took to get away and "find yourself" will be tremendous for you in the long run.
You've already grown so much before the trip, but I believe you are an even stronger person now.
I am not religious, but I find the spiritual journey that many people here have taken very fascinating. And I do believe that the last part of your trip was meant to be.
