H finally emailed back after i txted him. said he thought pulling S out of school a week early was fine. ocean shores sounds great. said he would miss them more knowing they were further away but will be happy to know that i was with them having fun. then mentioned a memory that i had forgotten.

we live in a city of mountains and water so we use to take the kids to the local beaches often (not ocean but still nice). one day, S (who must have been about 4 at the time) was digging for treasure and when he turned around, i stuck a little foil bag of chocolate koala bear cookies for S to "discover". he was thrilled! at the time we also laughed because we thought.. hmmmm.. hope he doesn't dig up stuff we didn't plant and try to eat it. anyway, H was saying he was looking forward to seeing the treasures that S would bring back to show him.. unless it was chocolate koala bears. wow. surprised that someone would actually remember a happy memory.

H wants to take S to school tomorrow. i said my mom would be here but he still wants to come. i don't want to deny him from seeing the kids but.. awkward. my mom isn't his biggest fan these days. so sad because she loved him!

weird thing.. when my gf was here on the weekend, she mentioned that her H had called mine to see if he wanted to go for a beer. her H is a total family man and thinks H is crazy. apparently H said sure.. give me a call and got off the phone quickly. yikes! hope he doesn't think i set that up because i totally did not!! H really likes him too so he must be nervous to see what people have to say.

another blah day. love the kids. love love love. but i'm sad thinking about how someone who loved you so much can be so distant in a short amount of time. sad.

purg - definitely have to plan vegas!

Happy valentine's day!!!

I'm laying in bed now because I did not make it through my shift at work. Back still sore from injury at work and to top it all off.. Took a tumble down the stairs just before going in to work. Thump thump thump thump.... I'm broken frown. Arm is all scraped up and I have a pain in my butt!! Literally! Lol

H is now wondering what he can do to help me out during the week. I'm not sure if I should come up with something or just tell him I'll be ok. Will have to think about this. In the past I have tried not to bother him too much and basically took care of everything. Maybe doing something for me would be good?

thanks purg!

H was here this morning to take S to school. i didn't actually talk to him though because i was in bed sleeping. he did come up w/ S because he needed to get something from the bedroom. S came over to give me a hug and kiss and say "happy valentine's mommy!". that's all i needed. didn't feel sad or anything that H didn't acknowledge because, i didn't either. i think it might have been harder if he had because then i would be trying to mind read.

D2 told me she is going to "fix me" (because of my back). i asked her how she is going to do that and she said "i dr D2". so cute! the best little valentine's!

what will i do for myself tonight. i'm picking up take out for dinner w/ the kids.. going to give them special valentine's treat.. and then i think i'll watch a chick flick. something cute rather than romantic. smile

Barely.....I'm so glad you have those two little kids to give you valentine's smooches. Lucky you!

My sons are too old to do that for me...waaaah. I miss that from them!

Hope you have a good night. What chick flick are you going to watch?

xxxooo to you too!

Had a really nice valentine's. I decorated the kitchen table w/ heart shaped gems, cheesy vday centre piece, box of smarties for each, flashing heart pens, and a toy each. They loved it!!! S said.. Thank you mommy for all the treats!!! Nice to be appreciated. Then we had a fancy KFC dinner. smile. Not exactly healthy but, it was a day of treats.

Hmmmm.. Which chick flick to watch? I like never been kissed. Makes me laugh.. Or maybe bridesmaids. Also going to color my hair tonight and eat chocolate covered strawberries. May be the best valentine's ever. I guess it's what happens when you have no expectations!! Lol

H is really missing out. It's sad actually. But what can you do?

Barely....what a great Mom you are. They're lucky kids.

I didn't know it was possible to go on a date by oneself but your description of your night sounded pretty romantic. I can't believe your H could miss out. Take it from a guy living solo...what a wasted opportunity for your H....

Glad you had a good evening with the kids! Kinda makes you think "why not do this more often?"
