...and almost as good as the hand holding was the fact that the Filipino restaurant we went to had a big screen TV and the Super Bowl was on. I am truly blessed!
OK, now that the football game is over, I can tell all. The hand holding was awesome! About half an hour into the movie, I made my move and took her hand. She was eating popcorn with the other one, so after a few minutes she took her hand away and folded her popcorn bag to put in her purse (I swear that purse is a walking restaurant, she had half her lunch in there too!). So I decided to leave it to her, if she takes my hand again, she's into it, if not I let it go. She put her hand back into mine, squeezed it and then put her free hand on top of mine...so I put my free hand on top of hers. We leaned into each other and spent the rest of the movie that way, squeezing and stroking each others hands...it was so sweet. Btw, I gave her the Jane Fonda DVD...in a happy birthday bag (I told her it was a late birthday present, her bd was in November) I put colourful paper over the DVD and included a package of two heart shaped Little Debbie "Be My Valentine" cakes. Presentation is everything! So, how did the date end, you ask? I dropped her at her house, she wrapped her arms around me and we kissed each other...on the cheek! We'll go for the lips next round lol. So stay tuned for more exciting dating adventures next week.
I remember going to the movies with Josh early on. Went to see TROY. I figured it would bore the heck out of me (he had studied greek history) till I saw who the stars were - LOVED it. But I remember him taking my hand and holding it - similar to what you described. And I remember how "loved" I felt by that gesture.
We still always hold hands at the movies. And when we're walking. And even when we sleep at night. (yes - really - even after nearly 8 years). It is an intimate gesture that reminds us of our closeness and commitment.
You are moving slowly but you are moving. Savour every minute!
Last night she texted me "thanks for a great day, Whatis. Hope your team wins!" I texted back "I had a wonderful day too with a lovely lady...and my team just won!" She replied "Congratulations! A great day and a great night too" I responded "The best part was you!" and she said "Thanks for making my day, I am so lucky to know you!" We said goodnight and I said I'd dream about her...and she should say goodnight to Jane Fonda for me! She replied "Sure will, and I'll be dreaming about your smiling face too:) Goodnight!"
