Nursing isn't for the weak. I have watched several of my friends completely destroy their lives while in nursing school to keep their grades up all while having to neglect their families, friends, and health and then after a few years of 12 hour hospital shifts (which typically turned into 14-16 hours in med-surg) they would burn out and switch careers. It's pretty sad.

The kicker is that SDA Lady makes more money as a live in caregiver here than she did as a nurse in the Philippines! Hey Mish, just came from my chiropractor and she's been sick with this bug for 2 months, she's on her second round of anti-biotics and she's the healthiest person on the planet...never gets sick. Good times.
I have the deepest respect for nurses and caregivers. Without them - I could not have survived raising Ryan. (And he would not have survived PERIOD!). Thank God for good, caring people!
I talked with SDA Lady tonight. She had to work overtime...she only works 13 hours a day to begin with!!! Anyway, now I'm supposed to eat chicken soup, take Advil Sinus, eat fruit and keep drinking liquids...oh, and don't forget the ginger and honey. I told her that after going to the chiropractors I went across the street to the HMV and bought the Jane Fonda Firm and Burn DVD that she wants. She said "do you know how much I want to kiss you right now" and I replied "I'm hoping a lot!" She says now we can work out to Jane Fonda together...uh, I'll give it some thought lol. Oh, and her stress test was normal. She said she tried to read the EKG but can't remember how to read them anymore. She also had an ultra sound done of her heart, results to follow. So far, so good.
Oh yes, she wants it, she saw Jane on Dr. Oz and wanted to try the DVD she just hasn't had time to go search for it. That's why she was so excited. No way would I buy that unless she wanted it lol!!!!
Last night we shared our first kiss...by text! She asked me if I'd like her to tuck me in and I said "I wish you could but I'll settle for texting me a goodnight kiss instead lol" So she replied "I'm not sure how to do that but I'll try XOXOXO" I replied "XOXOXO to you too. Hey, that's our first kiss...and ur a good kisser btw. Goodnight" This morning she texted me a reminder to drink lots of liquids today and take my vitamin C. So sweet!
