Jan, My MIL tried to quit smoking for years. Then she started using a Nicotrol Inhaler and quit cold turkey. She never did get off the Nicotrol Inhaler, but she didn't try either. It looks kind of funny, like the end of a cigar, but it really worked for her, and was quick. She could use it around people, too.
