today was my daughter's 18th birthday. STBX and I took the girls out to a steakhouse to celebrate. I've got some great pictures of D14 gagging on scallops with goose liver! Afterwards we went back to STBX's to have cake (red velvet with cream cheese icing. D14 stayed up late last night baking it with a recipe from her Cake Boss cookbook) When we arrived D18 received an email from a local university advising her that she was being offered admittance for the next school year. Hooray! In the middle of opening her presents she burst into tears and said "this has been such a perfect birthday". Tomorrow she's going to buy her first lottery ticket lol. It was a wonderful family evening and it's a blessing to know that at these special times we can still be a loving family despite everything else. I am blessed indeed.
