What are some of the "successes" you have had in your relationship this year? Even the seemingly "small" ones?

In what ways is your relationship with your partner "better" at the end of this year than it was in the past?

Who of your friends here would you vote as giving top honors to as making the greatest strides in becoming a "success", even though "they" might not think so?!

Don't be shy!! List them out, post the links to their threads, and what you think that they've "done good"!! We could ALL use the pat on the back!!

In other words, let's celebrate, and appreciate, all of our "successes" of this past year!!!

Oh heavens, Sage for SURE...now if I knew how to link threads....

I'd also have to say that compared to a year ago MY sitch is pretty darn near to a 180.

I joined the bb a year ago. CJ (H) asked for a D in Aug of '02, OW was revealed in Dec of '02 (I was about to issue an ultimatum when if found the bb...PRAISE BE!)...

My M seemed all but over, OW had her claws in CJ until late Feb '03.

Today we are strong, not perfect but GOOD! ...For those needing hope and haven't already, check out the summary of the Christmas Letter CJ wrote to me!

Shinybear

(and MY actual thread is called "Still Shining!" or is it "Shine on" ...one of those two!)

Yup, it's the computer challenged Shiny again...

How about Talista and Ellie (kml)?

Just thinking of names as they come to me!

Those are my choices for the best success stories. Read any one of those people's threads and you will see just WHAT DB'ing can actually accomplish when done well I think it was Shiny and Sages' threads that convinced me to buy DR.

I have my own success story of sorts too. DR and the folks on this BB taught me that I not only needed to change but I could do it successfully and make it stick (for the most part). The changes I made in myself helped H to actually SEE me as a different person. Someone he wanted to be with and love and hold close to him. My H and I are together again, in a better and stronger R then we had before. For that I will always be grateful to Michele and everyone here (there is no smiley for happy crying )

Sue has helped me a lot and as you can see she doesn't have much time to come and post here anymore. Busy rebuilding her M. She is a great success!

Even though to ask her, she won't say she was a success. But, she has come a LONG way! Her H is home and she is trying to piece her M. A great inspiration to me!

BTW, JJ, Thank you for starting this thread!

My favorite DB title of the year! (Okay, second to "I DB'd My T!ts Off and Won") I think that one was in Newcomers...

I love a little color in the piecing stories...:)

Well, my relationship is not a success, but I feel that I am.

I have had so many problems with myself my entire life and so much of that has changed now as a result of my reading and the help of the wonderful people on the bb. New ways of thinking, looking at situations and life as a whole are now almost a habit for me. I'm becoming better at it every day. Plus when falling into the old patterns of thinking I am much quicker to realize what I am doing and that I need to change it.

I am much happier with myself as a person now. I feel whole, and capable of living on my own and making my own decisions. These were all things that I felt I was not capable of doing, I have proven to myself that I can do these things. David is not necessary to my life for me to be happy or complete. I love David and wish he would choose to be a part of my life, but that is not a necessity, and if nothing else I wish for David that he find himself.

So 2003 was a very rough year, but a year of learning and growing for me, so I have to say in those respects it was a success! And I hope NEVER to go through anything like that again in my life!
