As a teacher, I like it. I have had many students over the years go through a divorce- and I was never aware of it until they started having troubles with school work... and sometimes it was too late to help them. I think it is admirable for you to be so forthcoming with their teachers. I think they will appreciate your honesty and it will give them the opportunity to prepare and be aware for any changes they may notice.
I'm sorry you had to write this letter, that couldn't have been an easy task for you. But I think it's a testimony to how you are committed to caring and focusing on your kids through this process.
