Pink and Carey Hart were apart for years you know and she wrote some pretty rough songs about their R. Now look at them. smile

Just thought I'd throw that PMA moment out for your approval.

Joan Armatrading? Really? I LOVE her music!!!! I grew up on music a little older than my chronological age b/c my brothers are quite a bit older than me. I love Carole King, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, Janis Ian, ----etc... the singer/songwriter era.

I remember when my oldest brother went through his first divorce in 1974 the soundtrack for his life (and my 8 year old self looking in at his pain) was Jim Croce....

Lately I found myself playing a lot of Jim Croce too---
Photographs and Memories
Operator
Lover's Cross

and my favorite One Less Set of Footsteps

I didn't understand why my brother played these full blast from the '8 track' lol....but now I totally get it.

I just can't believe Jim Croce died at age 30. What a great songwriter

I guess I really like this topic. Here are the words from Jim Croce's These Dreams

This one definitely speaks to me and probably many of us right now.

These Dreams

Once we were lovers
But somehow things have changed
Now we're just lonely people
Tryin to forget each other's names
Now we're just lonely people
Tryin to forget each others names

What came between us?
Maybe we were just too young to know
But now and then
I feel the same,
And sometimes at night I think
I hear you calling my name
Mmm-hmm-mmm these dreams
They keep me going these days

Once we were lovers
But that was long ago
We lived together then
And now we do not even say hello
We lived together then
And now we do not even say hello

What came between us?
Maybe we were just too young to know
But now and then
I feel the same,
And sometimes at night I think
I hear you calling my name
Mmm-hmm-mmm these dreams
They keep me going these days

lol, IS... yes... I'm the same age as you, but my dad was very involved in music as a member of a wedding band. So a lot of the top 40 through the 70s was persistent in my life. I think for that reason and friends who were into the punk scene, it really expanded my musical interests.

All those you've mentioned are fantastic!

KD that's cool! We are much more well rounded musically than many of our peers as a result. Our gen had the 80's....LOL. Of course who doesn't love the 80's? Even when we were singing about horrible things we did it to a peppy backbeat = for example Tears for Fears 'Mad World"

Love the Jim Croce songs as he is from my era. I remember listening to all of them as a starry-eyed romantic teen and now, I'm living them frown
