DD, I would think there should be no restrictions on your ability to search the forums, as a registered member. I can say that it does appear the search feature puts quite a load on the board and can take a bit of time to return the results.
I would just recommend being clear with your search keywords to get the best results.

I also just noticed and might be worth noting to newbies. It appears that the average response (per topic view) is around 10%.
So just a reminder that the more you post, the more your thread gets views, and the more likely you are to get responses and feedback.
