Tonight I am off to the insanity of a huge shopping mall at Christmas to meet Bookkeeper...Ho Ho Ho! this morning I tried to return some Christmas book purchases I made a Walmart two weeks ago, for various reasons I don't need the purchases now. Guess what, they have a seven day return policy on books. I stated my case, agreeing that policy is indeed necessary but that at Christmas would it not make sense to make an exception for a customer who started his shopping early? Manager says "you may have read these books" and I said "this one is almost a thousand pages, do you think I have the time to read that in two weeks plus the other two?" I got absolutely nowhere. What idiocy, a major book chain here gives you 30 days yet Walmart gives you seven and points to the back of the bill. I said "your sign says the customer will always leave satisfied, I'm not satisfied" They didn't care! Merry Christmas. I've written a complaint to Walmart anyway, why not. Ok, vent over.
So tonight I will meet the born again Baptist Bookkeeper question lady. Wish me luck, she's gotta be easier to deal with than Walmart!

Thanks Antlers, but you wouldn't think that a good Christian woman would pick the bowels of a living hell to meet in, would you lol? I'm more anxious about getting out of the shopping mall unscathed than meeting the lady. Should I wear my "Jesus Is The Reason For The Season" sweat shirt and a Santa hat? That would be so cool for a first...and last meeting! Later Dbers.

Mission accomplished! I had such a nice time. She's a lovely lady. We talked for about an 1.25 hrs and then I offered to drive her home, which she accepted. I asked if she'd like to get together again after Christmas and she said OK. In the car we talked about our marriages, she had been married for 15.5 years and she'd dated her husband for 11 years previously (OMG!) She said jokingly re dating "you and I, at our age, have to be cautious because we don't have time to mess up again lol" I felt a nice connection, a warmth...so we'll see.

Thanks G and Barb, we just talked from the moment we met until we said goodnight. It was so relaxed and fun. I think I'm good at this dating stuff! She's only been on the dating site for two weeks, she said she'd just put her profile up the morning I contacted her. She's still sticking to this idea that men should read her profile rather than contact her because of her pictures. That should keep my competition to pretty much nil lol! I emailed her and thanked her for lovely coffee date. I told her how much I enjoyed getting to know her better and would very much like to spend time together again. I asked if I could contact her after her move "say yes lol !" She did say yes to seeing each other again as she left the car but I want to hear "yes" after she's had a little time to think about it. So, we'll see.

Ok - remember what you learned from previous experience. Don't push it. Don't do more. Let some time pass and wait till after the holidays.
