ML, I am happy for your S, too, although I always felt saddened by your X's abandonment of him. It seemed that your X popped out of things for a short time and now is most likely too mired in his own problems to deal with anything or anyone else. I hope he will resurface and have a R with your S at some point, but a great deal of damage was done.

During our X's MLCs, your boy became a man and my baby became a little girl. I think my D is like your S in that she accepts his limited, half-@ssed involvement for what it is and has turned to others for support.

And I was thinking...I do not know X any more. We haven't had a real conversation in 5 years now. I have forgotten many aspects of who he was and have rethought much of the R.

He isn't a stranger, but he is someone distant and far away. Someone I used to know.
