Be careful. This Filipino social worker sounds like a replacement for MM whom I'm pretty sure you're not over yet. (you do continue to mention her a lot). Don't create work related opportunities just so you can test the waters - ask her out if you want to be sure. But be prepared for more of the same. (Hopefully not). 40 is not that much younger than you. MM was much younger, no? I think the "Lolo" comments were a dig about the age difference and this is what whe was meaning. But who knows - clearly she did not see you the way you saw her.
As for divorce expense - best money I ever spent. Ex left me. He did not pay a dime towards the divorce and told the kids - "it was your Mom who wanted the divorce"- sheesh - they knew better.
