I'm suggesting that you follow the advice of another poster and put her - repeatedly - back in her bed. Fifty times if that's what it takes. You can take a brief minute to settle her back in, then tell her it's time for sleep and leave. Don't go back in at the first whimper, but if you can't let her cry, just go back, tell her it's bedtime,. tuck her in and leave. Repeat to the edge of insanity maybe, but if you are FIRM and CONSISTENT it will eventually work - and you NEED to make this work so that you can sleep. It would be FAR LESS TRAUMATIC vfor your daughter to have a happy functioning mother, even if it DID mean she cried herself to sleep once or twice. But I am not even suggesting that - just firm insistence that she stay in her own bed and go to sleep.
